London does not need any reccommendation as the very name of the city triggers a chain of associations: Tower Brigde, London Eye, Royal Family, Madam Tussaud's Museum, double decker buses, retro taxi cabs and the traditional Globe Theatre dating back to Shakespearian times belong to the world's top must-sees. London landmarks are familair to almost every one of us. However, London has many faces and being the primary toruist destination and most willingly visited European city is only one of them. The London conurbation has become an important bussiness centre that agglomerates a great deal of major world's financial corporations, its political and economic importance is commonly acknowledged. What is more, London is gaining a strong position as a chief capital of popular as well as higher culture as the pubs and trendy locals of Soho or Chinatown districts are enjoying the popularity which can only be compared to the prestige of the National Theatre or the Royal Shakespeare Company.
A few days in the city and you will notice that London is a graceful mingle of the sophisticated and the passionate, history and modernity, splendour and relaxed atmosphere. Near the awe-inspiring architectural jewels of the Westminster district such as the Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abey you will find the bustling shopping arcadia – Oxford Street.
